More Private FDRs

Following the slackening of the Covid restrictions, courts are struggling to keep up with the backlog of cases and many people are suffering considerable delays in court hearings being listed.

One solution gaining momentum are private FDR hearings in financial proceedings in which the parties instruct a private Judge to conduct the hearing and obtain an indication as to an appropriate solution to their case.

There are greater costs involved in securing the private Judges but for many the time saved in settling their matter (for some as much as 6-8 months before their matter is listed at court) is worth the cost.
